Type of Clerkship: Clinical clerkships

Duration of Clerkship: 1 month, calendar month periods only.

Periods: July, September.

Hospitals:

Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena

Hospital Universitario Virgen del Rocío

Disciplines: Mainly all clinical departments are accepted.

Working conditions during the clerkship: Mainly 5 hours a day (9:00 to 14:00) from Monday to Friday, depending on the department/doctor rules. IFMSA-Sevilla can cancel the clerkship if the student doesn't assist to 80% of the clerkship.

Equipment required: The student must bring a white coat and a stethoscope (in case it is necessary for the department applied).

Board and Lodging:

Lodging: The student will be lodged in a youth hostel, placed near hospital Virgen Macarena. It is called: Residencia Universitaria Pino Montano, in Avenida Alcalde Manuel del Valle, s/n, 41009, Sevilla.  The student could also be lodged in student houses.

Board: 3 meals per day are offered at the cafeteria of the University Hospital.

Social Program: The student will be introduced to his tutor by a Spanish student, but we can't assure he/she will be collected from the airport/train or bus station at his arrival.

Usually it is offered a welcome party, evening parties, tourist tours around the city and surroundings, giving information about important-interesting places to go or visit, as villages, festivals and many other attractions.

Health Insurance: It is obligatory for every student.

Confirmation of Clerkship: The student must send the Confirmation Card at least 4 weeks before the clerkship beginning. Otherwise, IFMSA-Sevilla could dispose the place for another possible exchange student.

Substitutions and Cancellations: Substitutions may be done at least 1 month before the beginning of the clerkship, maintaining same period and department. Please, always notify cancellations.

Special Remarks:

-Companies, pets and any other kind of friend are not welcome at the youth hostel.

-No student will have board and lodging out of the dates specified in the CA.

-For a special remark of the youth hostel, students can't arrive on Saturday or Sunday.

-The student must contact the LEO or the contact person assigned in his/her CA at least 1 week before his arrival to confirm it.
